we have ferrets and plan to keep having them and my partner loves chihuahuas and other small fluffy dogs, like poms, so it's just not a thing we could likely do. I work at a dog boarding/daycare/grooming/training place and we have a couple retired racers who stay for boarding/daycare and they're not put with small small dogs. i'm sure i could get a non racer and not have as much of a problem but theres so many retired racers i'd want to give them a home ahah.
hopefully soon there wont be any more racing dogs! From what I've seen its a business in decline, which is good seeing as so many of the poor things end up abused, injured and/or euthanized before they even get to live a good life
thats good to hear, i hope the business declines as well. There's no reason to run them like they do. If it were regulated better and the dogs best interest was first priority it wouldn't be an issue but far too many people see dogs as expendable, replaceable.
